Dead by Daylight is a first-person survival horror game that takes place in the middle of the 1980s. Players are able to choose from two main characters, Steve and Nancy.

A new map is added to the game, called the Underground Complex.

The story begins in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. There is a secret government organisation that is hiding in the town and conducting experiments. The experiments are not just for entertainment, but they are also for purposes of warfare and biology.

When an inter-dimensional gate is opened at the Hawkins National Laboratory, an army of creatures with long, curved claws and gaping faces that bloom like horrific flowers is unleashed. These creatures are called Demogorgons. The creatures are so scary and strange that they look like monsters from another world. They have no regard for human life and will attack anyone in their way. The Demogorgon is a nightmare of unrestrained, feral rage. The creature is an insatiable killer and will stop at nothing to hunt down and kill as many people as possible. It has no regard for human life and will attack anyone in its way.
